Smoker’s Hack

Pardon Me!

So after I did the post on The Fox and Hounds, I got to thinking….

That fox isn’t the only well-dressed fox in town!

Meet Mr. Snooty of the Snooty Fox Motor Inn.
snooty fox
I don’t know if that’s his real name, but when you meet someone with that much class, you need to show some respect.
I was introduced to Mr. Snooty through his cousin at the Baldwin Hills Motor Inn (sorry, no signs of Stephen or Daniel). My friend Charles and I were cruising down La Brea when he pointed out the sign at the Baldwin Hills Motor Inn:

Charles: “Check out the fox on that sign – see how regal he is!”
Myrtle: “I guess.”
Charles: “Obviously he has manners.”
Myrtle: “I guess.”
Charles: “He’s like “Please, stay at my motel. You’ll find it quite comfortable.”
Myrtle: “I guess.”

When I had FINALLY met Mr. Snooty, it made a blessed day even more blessed.

My friend Karen lived in Leimert Park. When we left her house for mine, I reminded her that I needed to stop at the store for ramen and smokes. She took me to the nearest grocery store, which was the Ralph’s on Western and MLK Blvd.

Myrtle: “Oh my god! I’m dying!”
Karen: “What’s wrong?”
Myrtle: “This is the Ralph’s where Dolemite kicked some ass on Mitchell and White!”
Karen: (laughing) “Girl, you the only white girl I know that likes Dolemite!”
Myrtle: “OH MY GOD THERE’S THE SNOOTY FOX!”
Karen: “Girl, what you be knowing about The Snooty Fox? Only ho’s hang out there!”
Myrtle: “Like Renee? That’s where she takes her boyfriend when he’s in town.”
Karen: “GIRL SHUT UP! This is where she takes Marcus? She a ho’ too!”

So even though “ho’s” go to The Snooty Fox, you can’t deny the fact that this fox is foxy. He’s so pure class, he brings his monocle up to his eye and refers to his clientèle as “ladies of the night”. I hope he’s sure about the “lady” part.

Here’s a screen shot of Dolemite kicking some ass on Mitchell and White with The Snooty Fox in the background:

And here’s the actual clip of the action. Watch out for them Hush Puppies!

So good to see the Snooty getting some love. We’re about to release an album called “South Of The Snooty Fox” by Sterling Harrison. The cover is the Snooty sign in all its glory.
